It’s here at last, Caketrails #4! This time Bridget and I took a trip to the bottom of the Royal Mile and stepped back in time to enjoy a piece of traditional cake in this chintzy little tearoom. It was netted tablecloths and cross-stitches galore in this little place, but what really caught my attention was the table of cake! It was as if someone had picked up my Be-Ro book and went to town on all of the most traditional bakes imaginable. They even had rock buns (which Bridget decided to try). I myself went for a peppermint traybake because I can’t seem to get enough of chocolate and mint these days. It was definitely yummy and I would absolutely eat another one!
It’s been serving up cake since 1976 and I would happily recommend that you go and check out Clarinda’s Tearoom if you’re around this part of town.
