Picnic in the Park

If there’s one thing I really love about Edinburgh it’s all the green spaces that fill in the concrete gaps. And right outside my doorstep is the impressive Holyrood Park with Arthur’s Seat right in the middle. The nice weather stayed over night (lucky us!) so I went for a picnic with Will and even attempted some frisbee (with the abandoned frisbee I found in my office at work…). Let’s not dwell on how that went.

The picnic was ace. Different cheeses and crackers, Doritos and salsa, fruit, yoghurts, bread-sticks and cider. There were loads of dogs running around as well, and we had our kitchen playlist out!

Shame I didn’t make any cake! There will be some of that this weekend though, watch this space!

What’s the best picnic you’ve ever had?

Happy Baking!

  1. My husband and I were in Cambridge a few years ago. Bought a ready roasted chicken, coleslaw, some crusty bread from the supermarket and just had an impromptu picnic on one of the nicest green fields I’d ever seen. It was really memorable because it was spring time and the weather was just so perfect and I could even see daisies dancing in the wind. I live in Singapore and we don’t really have that many open spaces here for a picnic plus the weather here is hot and humid all year round so I’m very looking forward to my trip back to England next year! Your post really brought back some fond memories 😉
